New-ACE Membership Information
The membership of the New-ACE network is open to all newly appointed academics with
research interests in automatic control and related subject areas. We expect the
members to be within 5 years of their first lectureship appointment.
The network
will also be open to researchers who intend to pursue an academic career and to
people working in industry with an interest in automatic control. In fact, a priority
of this network will be to foster links with industry. We believe that, for a newly
appointed academic to develop a new and relevant research area, it is very important
that he or she understands the current and future needs, priorities, challenges
and opportunities of industry and society.
For people working in industry, this
network will offer a chance to meet academics at their early career stage, learn
about new and emerging research areas and possibly find innovative solutions to
maintain technological edge and economic competitiveness in their respective application
fields. To start with, we intend to use the industrial liaison committees that operate
in each participating department to promote the network and attract new members.
The current talent, future leaders in industry will be actively absorbed into the
network to secure long-term academic-industrial cooperation.
