DSP/Inverter Engineer (KTP Associate)
KTP Programme between the University of Liverpool and Power Systems Warehouse Ltd
£22,126 to £30,594 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to work on a 27-month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) collaborative development project between The University of Liverpool and Power Systems Warehouse Ltd.
Power Systems Warehouse (www.powersystemswarehouse.co.uk) is a specialist supplier of products such as Uninterruptible or Standby Power Supplies, Inverter Systems etc. The company is the largest OEM manufacturer in the UK of Central Battery Emergency Lighting Systems and is fast growing its share in off-grid and alternative energy systems.
The company is committed to making a step change in its technology by launching a new generation of high-efficiency off-grid multi-source electrical supplies, in which power inverters play an important role. You will support this by transferring the advanced inverter technologies developed at the University to the company.
You will need to:
• Possess an MPhil/MSc (Distinction) or a PhD degree in control, power electronics or other relevant area; • Have experience in Matlab/Simulink, DSP and its programming, electronic circuit design and PCB layout, power electronics and inverter design; • Be self-motivated with a creative and scientific attitude suitable for developing leading edge technology; • Have excellent communication, project management and team working skills, and be able to work at all levels in an organisation.
You will work alongside experts at the University of Liverpool in control, embedded systems, power electronics and renewable energy and will benefit from the generous training and personal development programme which forms part of the KTP (www.ktponline.co.uk) scheme, including the opportunity to achieve a Diploma in Management (Level 5). You will be encouraged to attain membership of a professional organisation and given the opportunity to study for a PhD degree, if not already holding one.
